I Can’t Do Everything

I can’t do everything.
I can’t save everyone.
I can’t heal the whole world.
I can’t control others.
I can’t take away all the pain.
I can’t make people see things the way I do.
I can’t walk someone else’s path for them.

But what I can do?

I can bleed love and kindness.
In quiet acts of compassion.
In simple moments the world will never see.
I can make those around me feel seen.
I can listen with an open heart.
I can pray for and with those hurting.
I can offer a smile. A hug. A shoulder.
I can speak life into others.
I can lead my children to faith.
I can hold on to my humanity.
I can use my voice to speak up for those who can’t.
I can be a safe space.
I can offer a soft place to land in a harsh time.
I can control my own response.
I can remember all the good in this world.

I can’t do everything. I can’t save everyone. I can’t heal all the hurts of this world.

But I can practice small acts of love every day. I can choose kindness. I can let God’s love shine through me.

I can’t fix everything, but I can do something. You can, too. If enough us do what we can do in the small, quiet moments of our every day, that’s when the world begins to change.
